YOGA AND PILATES
PILATES / PILATES TONE
Pilates is a core conditioning class, focusing on the abs and back to increase strength and flexibility. Pilates is about having the breath and movement working together, positioning of the body and balance. Our Pilates Instructors are Stott trained instructors. Stott is the most well recognized and respected name in Pilates worldwide.
ESSENTIAL PILATES
The aim of Essential Pilates training is to develop optimal neuromuscular performance by focusing on core stability, while safely balancing muscular strength with flexibility. This is an entry level Pilates class to learn the five basic principles to Pilates.
ANUSARA INSPIRED YOGA STUDIO
Anusara means, “flowing with grace” and “to step into the currents of the heart”.
Pangaea is an Anusara Inspired Yoga™ Teacher who weaves together precise anatomical alignment principals with a heart-oriented theme to inspire students to feel empowered and filled with self-love. Joy is the innermost essence of our being. Tantric philosophy supports a life style that allows us to embrace our own divinity and engage in life affirming decision-making. There is a light, a beauty and a song inside all of us that wants to be sung. During our practice each individual students contributes their own unique song of the heart and participated in the kula; the community of the heart, to experience diversity, difference and inclusiveness.
UNCOIL (HOT YOGA)
This class is taught at higher temperatures than the regular yoga class. A consistent sequence of poses will be taught each week creating a free flow of energy that is very detoxifying and allows the individual yogi to reach deeper levels in their practice.
OPEN HEART YOGA
Learn how to melt your heart and embrace your physical and emotional state of well being. Manifest with your breath and your dreams.
TWISTED SISTER YOGA
A sequence of spinal twists helps align the spine and enhance the immunity system. Get ready to have your abdominal area and internal organs massaged.
ASHTANGA YOGA
A traditional Hatha Yoga practice that generates heat through a vigorous flowing series of Yoga postures co-ordinated with enhanced breathing to develop strength and flexibility. This class is more challenging than
CORE YOGA.
VINYASA FLOW
Fluid Power classes are breath inspired journeys that offer a complete spectrum of rhythms from meditative and rejuvenating to the challenging and empowering. Every class is a ritual sadhana (a groove to one's self) that creates whole body transformation of strength and fluidity, circulation and centering. Classes are sequenced around the function and energy of "peak poses" in a way that allows every student to find their developmental and emotional current that is appropriate for them that day in relation to the flow of life.
BACK CARE YOGA
Connect with the universal through your back body. Back bends and back drops are an invigorating way to get to know your dharma (life purpose).
YIN YANG YOGA
Yin-Yang describes opposites such as heaven and earth that exists in the natural
world. Yin is passive and introspective and the perfect counterpart to yang, which is energetic. Yin-Yang yoga is designed to bring renewal, relaxation, strength and balance to our physical and emotional body. This is accomplished through alternating between posture sequences that increases circulation creating heat in the body and removing energy stagnation as it cleanses and strengthens the body and mind (yang) to a slow and quiet practice completely relaxing in supported seated or lying postures to encourage the slow and safe opening of connective tissues (yin).
THE ESSENTIALS
BIKE
Bike is an indoor cycling program designed to create a group exercise experience. Participants achieve their cardiovascular and muscular strength goals thru the use of musically defined rhythms and cycling drills. Members can call in to reserve a bike up to ONE HOUR before the start of any class start. Please bring a water bottle. Beginners are always welcome and encouraged to come and try our variety of bike classes. It is recommended that you arrive 10-15 minutes early to allow our instructors time to set your bike up properly for you and give you all safety tips geared for first timers.
PUMP
A muscle conditioning class with basic moves covering all major muscle groups. This class is a great way to tone and improve strength. This class is for all levels.
CARDIO PUMP
An interval class with a mix of high and low impact cardio and conditioning components using free weights and bands. This class finishes with core work. Perfect for every fitness level.
FUNCTIONAL STRENGTH
A muscle conditioning class that offers functional options for many exercises. Learn how you can recruit muscles to work together to improve strength, stability and balance. You will use a variety of equipment in this class including the step, body bar, hand weights, bands and/or balls. Modifications will be shown for all beginners.
DRILLS
This class combines basic, yet intense cardio moves to work together to improve strength, stability and balance. Get ready to get your “sweat on” as you work in combos to burn the fat and tone your muscles. There are always options for both beginners and advances members. This class finishes up with toning and ABS.
MASH UPS
Is a core class using the bender balls, resistabals, gliders and light weights, there is a little cardio component, not killer but challenging.
CORE
This class combines the principles of Pilates for a unique workout using the small Pilates ball, gliders, and hand weights. It’s a great workout that targets the core while lifting, shaping and firming the body from head to toe!
POWERFUL LOW
Low-impact group fitness classes have traditionally been noted as less challenging workouts. However, just because its low impact doesn’t mean it has to be low intensity. This workout will challenge the cardiovascular and muscle conditioning systems with minimal impact forces on the body.
FIST
This class is based on the training regime of professional boxers, modified for a group class setting. The challenges of combination strikes on a heavy bag mixed with cardio stations makes this class among one of the most challenging and fun on the schedule.
STEP
A fun and challenging cardio class using the Reebok step. Moves are pre-choreographed in combinations. There are always options for both beginners and advances steppers ! This class finishes up with toning and ABS.
MIXED BAG
MIxed Bag is a muscle conditioning class with an emphasis on core. This class changes from week to week.
DANCE
ZUMBA®
Is a fusion of Latin and International music that creates a dynamic, exciting, and effective workout. Zumba® fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic workout system that will blow you away. Zumba® is a fitness program inspired by Latin music and dance moves such as the Cha-Cha, Meringue, Salsa, Mambo, Calypso, Belly Dance, and Rock & Roll thrown in for good measure.

ZUMBA® GOLD
Zumba® Gold takes all the excitement from the original Zumba® class and introduces it to the active older adult, the beginner participant, and the other special populations that may need modifications to benefit from Zumba®. This explosive program is designed so that everyone can do it. Zumba® Gold guarantees the usual... the best time of your life... but in a safe, well-paced and effective format.
ZUMBA® TONE
Zumba® Tone uses the dance steps and low level weighted maracas. It works your core, and helps you regain muscle mass and definition.
BOOTY BEAT
When flirty, fabulous dance meets choreography with a strength-driven purpose; the result is a FUN, effective way to condition the entire body, inside and out! The Flirty Girl Fitness® Program created by women for women works the entire body, targeting specific muscle groups, while maintaining super fun, non-stop cardio-dance moves. Using the easy to learn Flirty Girl Foundation Moves, participants will quickly "own" the movement and experience the fabulous feeling that dancing gives you, while reaping the benefits of strength and cardiovascular exercise all in one class! As featured in the Toronto Star, Booty Beat is a great way to burn calories in a high energy, booty shaking workout! Even if you've never tried dance-based fitness, you, and your entire class, will be dancing like no one is watching!
Specialty Class Descriptions
STRIP
This class combines some of the basic strip tease moves and combines them with dance elements to create a fun, energetic and sexy workout. Careful, it may also improve your personal life. Our instructor, Eneli Holmes is a professional Hip Hop dancer and ballerina. She has danced in many shows in Toronto, New York, and Los Angeles as well as videos on Much Music.
HIP HOP
True Hip Hop at it’s best. Using the latest trends in choreography, each move is broken down to create the ultimate in Hip Hop routine. Frasier McCartney has over 15 years teaching experience and is one of downtown Toronto’s most popular Hip Hop instructors.
